I think we can all use a little change after the kind of year 2020 brought us!
I hate to use the word “Trends” when it comes to decorating, but design is like fashion there is always somthing new to embrace.
I love to get inspired by color, fabric, texture, creating a room strictly around what is trending today limits you to the endless possiblities. I am a firm believer in purchasing timless pieces that can change with the times. This allows you to experiment with any style that suits you at that moment.
Let’s embrace change in 2021!
Comfort
We are spending a lot more time at home so our homes need to be a place we find relaxing without forfieting style.
Soft fabrics, oversized pillows & throw blankets are just a few things to add to a your room.

Color
This winter provides the perfect excuse to get cozy, and a great way of doing this is by incorporating warm colors to a space. However, warm colors can feel really welcoming in sunnier months too, and we will see a lot of burnt oranges and peacock blues incorporated into people’s décor going forwards.
These are great colors that work well with darker colors like grey and navy, but also add depth to a space. These colors are also great for this time of year, and add a playful element of color that is very needed during the colder winter months.

Patterns
I am seeing textile with rich patterns and color coming back in the home! One of the easiest ways to pull a room together is to find that one pattern that could inspire and transform a room from boring to fabulous.
Texture
Texture adds warmth and depth to a room. Texture come in many forms. Fabric, floor coverings, surfaces, furniture the list goes on. You will see a lot more organic/nature materials. Go shopping in a garden store, just because it was made for the outside doesn’t mean you can’t bring it into the home

Mixed Metals
This has been happening more often. The mix of different metals in the same room & home. Just be careful, I feel 2 is enough in the same room, but that’s me, it’s your home
