Things are moving along with the renovation. Cabinets and counters are in, backslash installed and we have selected hardware. But now it’s time to hit the road to find a unique counter for the island. Not sure what we are looking for but we will know it when we see it. Antique doors, barn wood, something industrial maybe, not quite sure.
We took a chance and stopped by a Antique Flea Market that a local church was having and found this barn door.
It won’t work as an Island but it’s going to look great in the master bedroom
We then started the holiday week end by heading to the Stormville flea market. We saw a lot of good thing but nothing worth buying
Next stop Millerton, NY they have the best antique shops and coffee. The shops were filled with great stuff, we loved a pair of leather chairs and found a great farm table but it wasn’t big enough.
Drove to a little town called Kent in Connecticut where they have quant little shops and we found a place that sells old barn wood so I think we have found our island counter.
We have a lot more work to do but finding this place will allow us to have a unique and one of a kind counter for the island.
Keep following my journey, I can’t wait to post the progress of the kitchen and the start of the Guest Bath!
