Before & After Bathroom Renovation

There is no better feeling than when you finally finishing a bathroom renovation!

The time you spend on designing, researching and shopping for all you need can take up a lot of time. Sometimes it takes longer than the renovations itself!

We started planning this bathroom the day after we moved into the house. But unfortunetly it was not the first thing we planned on tackleing. Since it’s a small master bathroom and we wanted to maximize the space by thinking out of the box.

Design Process:

  1. design style/inspiration
  2. tile
  3. flooring
  4. shower
  5. vanity
  6. lighting
  7. storage

Let’s start with the before pictures

Unfortunetly I didn’t take pictures before we removed the old wall tile, but it would not have made a differnence, it was still an ugly bathroom!

So as you can see there was a need to be creative with this small space.

I chose to keep is simple. Black & White color scheme. Hexagon floor Ttle and 6 x6 white wall tile installed all the way to the ceiling

The first thing was the door, it was awkward opening the door because it hit the sink, making it impossible to keep the door open while using the sink.

So we started our search for a door. We could not be happier with our antique barn door we installed.

  • Vanity

I feel in love with the look of a floating sink. I know it’s not practical since it does not offer any storage, but I knew I would think of other creative ways to gain storage

  • Lighting

Placing the vanity in front of the window is a great way to gain light and privacy at the same time. So when selecting the light fixtures I didn’t need to be very practical.

  • Storage

Adding a shelf under the vanity gave me a space to store every thing I need, but they had to be hidden away. So I placed small container in the back and these large basket work great for towels & toilet paper.
