Renovating my new home can be challenging because I have so many ideas and it’s hard pulling it together without changing my mind every time I find something new. I like the casual look of a farmhouse but I want cleaner lines without going too modern. So I have to find that balance between the two.
Inspiration Board
While I love the warm tone of taupe as a wall color it didn’t work in this house. I must have tried 6 different colors and they all turned blue or green! So I’m keeping it simple WHITE for the walls and trim with an touch of black in the kitchen and all the doors. I have also made the commitment to an accent color “Blue”. I have always decorated with warm tones but I’m loving the mix of camel & blue together so I’m taking the plunge.
The kitchen will influence the whole space so here is the plan. Soft white cabinets with the island charcoal. Counter is a soapstone that is charcoal but at times it looks blue, but the Island counter will be a surprise. Shiplap as the backsplash with the wall behind the stove this beautiful antique tile.
So that’s my plan, I hope you continue to follow so you can see the progress
